A lot of new computer buyers are sort of split between chosing Windows XP or Vista. While most brand manufacters such as HP or Acer?sell computers with Vista as default, some manufacters like Dell and Us (Netsquare) still chose to offer XP. The simple reason is, it’s good and faster than Vista.
We have complied case for both operating system in dot points below.
We shell start with the Case For Vista:
- Windows Vista is the latest Microsoft operating system with the latest technlogy.?
- Improved security (although very ignoring).
- Improved built in software such as Movie Maker 3, Gallery are great additions.
- Windows Vista will recieve support from Microsoft for the next 4 - 5 years. Microsoft just released Service Pack 1 for Vista.
- If you are planning to play the latest game with Dirext 10, and have a super fast computer, get Vista.
- Software developers will be developing new version of their software for Vista. Althought they will probably mantain support for XP as well.
.
Case For XP:
- XP is a matured and stable operating system. After 2 service packs and huge amount of bug fixes its well rounded and does the job incridibily well.
- Compared to Vista, XP is leaner and faster. XP’s will outperform Vista in most cases if using the same hardware.
- XP is cheaper and is still more compatible with specialised software. If you are considering Vista you must remember to check software?and hardware?compatibility.
.
Should I wait for Windows 7?
Windows 7 is the next major release of Windows. Microsoft said it will release it in 2009. To many people Vista was a major disappointment. Promised revolutionary features were cut so that Vista could be delivered on time. Windows 7 promises to finally deliver these features, as well as some user interface improvements. All of these features really put Vista in awkward position. Many satisfied XP user will be happy to stick with Vista and wait for Windows 7 in 2009, while Vista user will feel outdated, and face another expensive operating system upgrade.
So it really boils down to this. Forget about upgrading to Vista for and old computer. High system requirements will make Vista frustratingly slow to use. But if you are into the cutting edge gaming, and prepared to shell out more than $1600 for a super powerful computer to power Vista go ahead.
My personal opinion is to stick with XP for now, wait for Windows 7 in a year or two’s time. If Windows 7 is a hit, then it is a good time to upgrade to it. If it is a miss, Vista would have matured and become a viable option. But for now XP is still King.

1. File Restoration
Undelete files you accidentally trashed from your hard drive, USB drive, or camera’s flash card with Restoration. Since deleting files from your PC doesn’t actually delete the bits that make them up, undelete utilities like Restoration can scan “unused” disk space and cobble together fragments of files past. However, if your computer overwrites even a bit of the file, you’re toast?but it should be your first stop the moment you realise you needed that file you just emptied out of the Recycle Bin.

2. Duplicate File Finder
Are you running out of hard drive space? One way to save space is to deleted those duplicate files you have hanging around. The two programs below are great for scanning your hard drive (or specific folders) and identify which files are exactly the same. Especially great for deleting doubles or even triples of your MP3 or photo collection.

If you have a large house, and your wireless signal is not cutting it…It’s amazing what a few sheets of tinfoil can do for the strength of your wireless signal. By carefully folding tinfoil into a parabola, you can boost your wireless strength tremendously. The fellas in the video saw gains from 82% to just under 100%, though I only saw boosts of around five percent, so your mileage may vary. This project should only take about three minutes and will hopefully leave you with impressive results.
