3 Simple Methods to Stop Pop ups
Internet Explorer 7 Self protection
Start Internet Explorer
Click on: Tools>Internet Options
Click on the tab: Privacy
We recommend increasing your security setting to “Medium High” from “Medium”
Make sure Turn on pop-up Blocker is checked.
Click on Pop-up Blocker: Settings
Change the filter level to “High Block all pop ups”
When ready close and then press okay.
Warning this will block all pop ups, including illegitimate ones like many online bank logins.
However you can temporary Allow popup by right clicking on the yellow tool bar that notifies you can a pop up has been blocked. See Picture.

Google Popup blocker
Google Toolbar has many features, one of them is it prevents new windows from automatically opening when you visit a website.
When the pop-up blocker intercepts an incoming ad, your cursor changes briefly to look like this: 
The pop-up blocker button displays this icon: 
along with a count of the number of pop-ups blocked since the last Toolbar installation.
To let a pop-up through on a one-time basis, press and hold the CTRL key as you click on a link to navigate to a new page.
